Yaroslavl State Technical University (YSTU) is the largest technical University in the Yaroslavl region.

Yaroslavl State Technical University was founded in 1944. YSTU is a large Russian technical university that offers more than 50 fields of study, including chemistry, biotechnology, architecture, design, shipbuilding, software engineering, information technology, telecommunications, mechanical engineering, and others.


The University has 6 Institutes (Economics and Management, Construction and Transport Engineering, Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Architecture and Design, Digital Systems), 10 innovation centers and laboratories. The university is among the best architectural universities in Europe and the world (TOP-20 and TOP-40) according to the INSPIRELI rating. Four branches of training of YSTU are included in the TOP-20 in Russia (rating on reception quality - the average score of the national exam).


The University provides more than 5,000 students with higher education. In 2024 YSTU accepts almost 900 state-funding places and the total number of students is more than 1600. The students in 50 profiles, programs and specializations are enrolled in the University, including 29 Bachelor’s and Specialist’s programs, 20 Master’s programs, 24 PhD programs.


YSTU cooperates with the Government of the Yaroslavl region and the largest enterprises of the region. The University takes part in the Agreement to create the Association of innovative and technological development in the Yaroslavl region. In addition to YSTU the Government of the region and a number of universities are the participants of this Agreement. 22 cooperation agreements with partners in innovation activity and potential employers have been concluded. "Project exchange" has started its work. Almost 90% of YSTU graduates are successfully employed. Many find work while still studying.


Students of YSTU have an active life outside the classroom. The University has a Union of students and Trade Union Committee for students. Sports, creative, scientific and social events are held. Students participate and win competitions and festivals of regional, Federal and International levels.


Campus of YSTU is one of the largest in the region and includes 9 buildings, 4 dormitories, the sports building, the dining room, the stadium and the race track. All nonresident students are provided with dormitories.
